Oh my Duff!
Posted under Headlines, Music, Projects, Videos by Ric with 2 Comments »

Lol, if there’s an ‘Oh my Jonas’ there better be an ‘Oh my Duff!’ Lame, I know.

Anyways, on to bigger and non-lamer stuff.
Hilary is going to work on an all-new album in 2 freakin’ weeks. *jumps*

I have no idea if she left Hollywood Records already, (not even a week after Best Of’s release!) but I have signs that she left early. But I also have signs that she might have not.

  1. She never wanted to talk about ‘Best Of’ even when she was on TRL.
  2. She never mentioned anything about ‘Best Of,’ so obviously, she hated the idea, and never was interested in it before.
  3. A few sources have mentioned it before.
  4. She never promoted ‘Best Of’, not even ‘Reach Out’

She might have not, because…

  1. It was mentioned by a few sources that ‘Holiday’ will be a single.

That’s it. But so what if she didn’t leave yet?
That’s what I’m nervous about. If she hasn’t left yet, and if she’s working on an album, doesn’t that mean that new album is STILL under Hollywood Records?

It’s impossible, but it’s worth being pointed out, because… you get the idea.

Hilary is also going to have a new sound with the album and she’s ‘hard-core writing and figuring out which direction to go.’ It says, ‘edgier than before.’ Does that mean she’s going back to pop-rock?

Former Disney star says she’ll be working on new, edgier LP next month.

Hilary Duff was just 2 years old when Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” was released, but that didn’t stop her from building a new song of her own — “Reach Out” — around it. The song is featured on her greatest-hits LP, Best of Hilary Duff, which hit stores last week.
” ‘Reach Out’ is a sample of a Depeche Mode song, ‘Personal Jesus,’ ” she told MTV News at the “Total Finale Live” on Sunday (November 16). “It’s different for me. It’s a little dancey, and there’s a rapper named Prophet who’s on it who’s really cool and kinda fresh.”

In addition to “Reach Out,” Duff has another new song on the album, called “Holiday,” which found her working with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. She describes the song as “a really personal [one].”

Duff isn’t just giving her fans her greatest hits — soon the singer/actress will be back in the studio recording new material. “I’m going to start working on a new album in two weeks,” she said.

These days, even with a NBC development deal in the works that will bring the singer back to the small screen, she’s spending her days “hard-core writing and figuring out what direction to go in.”

And the former Disney star said she’s looking to go edgier than the music she’s done in the past. But she can’t help but embrace her feminine side.

“I like so many different kinds of music,” she said. “Something poppy and catchy — I’m girly but I think I’m kind of tough, so maybe a little rock influence.”

Hilary will dominate national television.
Posted under Headlines, Projects, Rumors by Ric with 1 Comment »
Hilary Duff is returning to TV, signing a pact with NBC to star in a new series.
Under terms of the one-year talent and development deal, Peacock will develop a show starring Duff; thesp will also be tapped to guest star in various current NBC shows. The Duff series would be produced by Universal Media Studios. Deal was announced by NBC Entertainment/ Universal Media Studios co-chairman Ben Silverman.

Duff will meet with writers and comb through the Peacock’s development for the right project to star in.

Duff starred in a 2004 CBS pilot that wasn’t picked up to series; since then, she’s focused on her music and movie careers. The actress starred in this year’s “War, Inc.,” and will next be seen in the 2009 features “Safety Glass,” “Stay Cool” and “Greta.”

She first rose to fame as the star of the Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire” (which later spawned “The Lizzie McGuire Movie”). She then appeared in features such as “Agent Cody Banks,” “Cheaper by the Dozen” and “Raise Your Voice.”

In signing Duff, NBC Entertainment exec VP Teri Weinberg cited the thesp’s “huge following” and versatility as a young talent. As a singer, Duff’s album “Metamorphosis” sold more than 2 million copies and spawned several hit singles.

Thaaaat’s right, Hilary’s finally coming back to television. It’s been like, what, 7 years since her last TV series? She declined a role for Beverly Hills, 90210 which could have skyrocketed her and her carreer. So hopefully this is real, and she accepted the role. I can’t wait for it! There will be more news on this to come, hopefully. Might be a terrible rumor, but let’s cross our fingers!

Hilary; Definitely a part of TRL’s finale.
Posted under Headlines, TV Appearances by Ric with No Comments »

This is why she left for New York:

Yes, it’s been a rumor before, but Hilary is taking part of the Grand Total Finale of MTV’s 10-year-running TRL. She’ll be a guest there on November 16; Sunday. Don’t forget to watch!

We all thought she was just going to watch Mike in another hockey tournament. *laughs*

Behind-the-scenes footage: Reach Out - Part III
Posted under Media, Podcasts, Videos by Ric with No Comments »

Here’s the 3rd behind-the-scenes footage as promised by the official Hilary Duff podcast. Hilary mentions that the production of the music video took until 2AM! Wow. Now that’s some crazy production. And they didn’t stop there! They still had to shoot the water pool scene. Poor Hilary! That humongous dress must have weighed a ton! With the super-absorbent dress, I think the owners of the place should ‘refill’ the pool. She took in a lot. hehe. After the scene, Hilary says her goodbyes and thank you’s to the crew because she had to leave for New York. What for? Wait for our next post!

‘Best of Hilary Duff’ out today!

SUPPORT!

For Hilary’s sake. This is the last Hilary Duff music we’ll have in a very long time. And do you want to embarrass Hilary with a flop album? No. Don’t download illegally, (even though I know you did) because we really want Hilary to leave Hollywood Holysh*t Records with a BANG. And her label will feel regret about letting her go. But I actually don’t want them to regret it, lmao. They might ask her to come back, and it’s ANOTHER 4 albums of pain, anger, impatient-ness, upsetting moments, hate comments and crap. Hollywood Records sucks as a label, don’t deny it. They should realize it. Hilary is was a THE moneymaker for that crap label, and they’re treating her like what they’re label is like… it’s like crap.

Speaking of history, this album will make you realize why you love Hilary so much. I took a whole listen today, and omg, I had a Hilarday.  (that was lame) I ended up listening to all her albums the whole day, even Santa Claus Lane and the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room! Yes. That’s how Hilary-ish my day was. I promise you, listen to the album and you’ll be a bigger fan than before, even if you’re Hilary’s #2 fan, you’ll worship her.

Forget those critics who are potentially going to give this album a bad review. No doubt, they’ll mention the infamous ‘didn’t-she-just-have-a-greatest-hits-collection’ kind of crap. But forget it! This is for the fans to enjoy. Not for the critics to make her feel bad.

Well, go to Amazon or Wal-Mart or whatever to pick up your copy. You’ll love it. And the CD’s cheap! You’ll probably end up having a Hilarday, like me. hehe.

Banned: I knew people would over-react.
Posted under Headlines, Music by Ric with 1 Comment »

I perfectly knew that people would over-react about Reach Out’s music video. I mean, it’s no big deal. You make it look dirty for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with the thumb-sucking [I’m not saying that just because I’m a fan] but since you’re all too green and dirty-minded sickos, you’re thinking that it’s suggests or implies sexual pleasures.

Do you know why I had to say that? Because Reach Out is banned from airplay on US Television, UNLESS…

Unless the management replaces the dirty scenes with more friendly ones. They have done this but I think it’s only for Canada. They were actually planning to let the ‘dirty’ version be played on US Television, or even worldwide. Officials thought the video was too raunchy and sexy and racy and too hot to handle, so that’s what they do. — There’s nothing to be ashamed of for being sexy, Hilary. :) — And that they think that the outfits are too ’saucy.’ Psshhh. You wish. What’s wrong with a humongous dress and short shorts?

If the officials think that the video is too controversial, I didn’t hear them say anything about other controversial videos. Sure, they were forced to black-and-white out Paris’ ‘Stars are Blind’ or overlay a smoke on Britney’s naked body on ‘Womanizer’ but can’t you just say the controversies on those videos are fairly worse? Sorry to the fans, but I had to compare.

Don’t tell me ‘there’s always a first‘. None of Hilary’s music videos were ever censored. But, ugh… nevermind. You get the thought.

Here’s the original article:

Duff’s Video Censored

Officials have censored Hilary Duff’s new music video, deeming the promo too raunchy for U.S. TV.

The promotional film for Duff’s latest single, “Reach Out,” shows the pop star posing in a variety of saucy outfits, including bondage gear and a blindfold.

But officials have decided footage of Duff licking a male actor’s finger like a lollipop is too racy, according to JustJared.com.

Duff has now been forced to delete the clip from the video and insert less controversial footage into the final version.

Behind-the-scenes footage: Reach Out - Part II
Posted under Media, Videos by Ric with No Comments »

You waited, and here it is.
It features The Prophet giving a shout-out to Hollywood Records, Ryan Tedder and Hilary’s official site. Along with the white wall footage that we never got to see. I wonder why they didn’t include that? She looks great in it… well, except for the dark lipstick.

Don’t worry about the thumb-sucking…
Posted under Music, Projects, Videos by Ric with 2 Comments »

Because that’s not what the MTV, MuchMusic, VH1 and all-of-them viewers are gonna see? Doesn’t make much sense? Let me cut to the chase…

There’s a TV-friendly version for the Reach Out music video. I guess the management came to their senses with the bad things the children can develop if they come across this video on television. So, they took out the thumb-sucking and all the dirtiest parts and replaced them with sexier ones. Have you noticed that millisecond shot of Hilary under the pool table? They use that one on the video more! I love it! Thanks to Hilary Passion for ripping the video for non-Canadians!
